San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---White Wings second baseman Wilmer Pino hit his first two home runs of the season and drove in six runs, to lead Rio Grande Valley to a 14-8 win over the Colts Saturday night at Foster Field.

It was a low-scoring pitchers' duel through the first three innings, as San Angelo's Adam Kramer and Rio's Chase Davenport pitched to a 1-1 draw. In the top of the fourth inning Kramer started to bend, when he allowed four runs on a pair of two-run homers by Pino (1) and Brandon Decker (1), who hit his first professional home run. It was 5-1 after four innings.

In the fifth Pino (2) went deep again, this time on a three run shot to make it 8-1 White Wings. That was Kramer's last inning, as went gave up eight runs, five earned, on nine hits in five innings of work.

Each team scored a run in the sixth to make it 9-2, but Rio really broke it open with a four run seventh inning that made it 13-2. San Angelo scored four in its half of the seventh as well, highlighted by a Daryl Jones two-RBI double that made it 13-6, but the Colts ultimately could not come back.

Davenport (2-2, 5.28) earned the win after allowing two earned runs in six innings, while Kramer (0-1, 6.48) took the loss.
