Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The IronPigs and Red Wings played free baseball for the second straight night as the teams were deadlocked at three through the first nine frames. A sacrifice fly by Logan Moore in the bottom of the 11th inning gave the Pigs the 4-3 win. The IronPigs have now won three straight home games in extra innings and are a season high 15 games above .500.

Trailing by two in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Pigs battled back to tie the score against reliever DJ Baxendale. With runners on first and second, Ryan Goins singled into center field to score Logan Moore to make it 3-2. Goins has now hit safely in all four games he has played in for Lehigh Valley. Mitch Walding drove in the tying run one batter later with a fielder's choice to tie the game at three.

The Pigs used five pitchers in the ball game with Ranfi Casimiro getting the start. He provided three strong innings and struck out five allowing just one run. Zac Curtis tossed a career high three innings and allowed two runs, a two-run go-ahead home run to Kennys Vargas. Hoby Milner was the next on the mound and faced the minimum in two innings of work. Hector Neris kept the game tied in the top of the ninth striking out one in his lone inning of work.

In extras, Tom Windle (7-2) tossed a scoreless tenth to keep the game tied. Zach Granite was placed on second to begin the inning and after a strike out of Cameron Rupp, he was caught trying to steal third for a big second out. Windle closed out the inning with his second strike out and sent it to the bottom of the second. The Pigs were unable to score in the bottom of the tenth against Jake Reed.

After Windle stranded the bases loaded in the 11th, the Pigs had another opportunity to win in the 11th against Nick Anderson (5-2). Lehigh Valley loaded the bases with no outs after an intentional walk and a bunt single by Adron Chambers. Logan Moore lifted a fly ball to left field to walk-off for the second straight night on a sacrifice fly to score Danny Ortiz.

The Pigs wrap up their homestand and the first half of the season with a 1:35 p.m. game against the Red Wings tomorrow afteroon.
