Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the second game of a three-game series. Following the series, the Herd will have a three-day break for the AAA All-Star Game before heading to Allentown, PA to take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for a four-game series July 12-15. Buffalo will then play host to the Norfolk Tides and Durham Bulls July 16-22. The last time the Bisons played the two teams was April 20-25.

Last Game: BUF 6, SWB 4

RHP Sean Reid-Foley won his fifth game in a Bison uniform last night and tenth combined with New Hampshire (AA). The righty gave up three runs on six hits and one walk in six innings of work. He also fanned eight Syracuse batters which is the sixth time Reid-Foley has struck out at least seven batters in a start with Buffalo. C Danny Jansen hit a home run in two consecutive games, launching his seventh long ball of the season in the victory Friday night.

Syracuse (8-4)

The Bisons and Chiefs last played on June 29-30, July 1 with Buffalo taking the last game to salvage the series. Following this series, the two teams will meet again in Syracuse for a four-game series August 31, September 1-3 to finish out the 2018 season. In five games against the Chiefs this season, INF Gift Ngoepe has five hits in 13 at-bats (.385) including both of his home runs on the year.

Today's Starter: LHP Thomas Pannone

LHP Thomas Pannone is making his Triple-A debut tonight. He will become the 12th Bisons pitcher to make their debut this season. Pannone is 0-1 with a 6.59 ERA (13.2 IP) in three starts this season with Dunedin (A-Adv) and New Hampshire (AA).

Justin Shafer

RHP Justin Shafer recorded his seventh save of the season on Friday. The reliever has now thrown five straight scoreless appearances (4.2 IP). In 30 appearances between Buffalo and New Hampshire (AA), Shafer is 5-3 with a 0.96 ERA (37.1 IP) and also has eight saves in nine chances.

Danny Jansen

C Danny Jansen was 2-3 on Friday. Jansen, who was the DH, hit a towering home run in route to Buffalo's victory against Syracuse. The right-handed slugger also had a single and a walk, while scoring two runs in the win. The backstop will not only play in the 2018 Triple-A All-Star Game with INF Jason Leblebijian, but will also play alongside INF Bo Bichette in the 2018 Futures Game.

LHP Thomas Pannone was added to the Bisons' roster from New Hampshire (AA) on Saturday.

Bisons' Bits

C Danny Jansen is the fourth Bison to have a home run in back-to-back games this season...RHP Justin Shafer was 2-1 (2SV/3SVO) and had a 1.80 ERA in the month of June (10 IP)...OF Roemon Fields' ten-game hitting streak is the second longest by a Bisons' hitter this season (INF Tim Lopes had 11 straight games to open the season 4/9-4/28)...The Bisons' have had 36 different pitchers appear in a game this season.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (41-46) took game one against the New York Yankees Friday night with a 6-2 victory. 1B Justin Smoak hit a three-run home run in the win while INF Yangervis Solarte collected three hits. LHP J.A. Happ faces RHP Luis Severino in the second game of the series today (4:07 p.m.). They will close out the quick three-game series tomorrow afternoon in Toronto.
