Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to take the series from the Syracuse Chiefs on Monday night. First pitch from NBT Bank Stadium is slated for 7:05 p.m.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (7-7, 4.12) gets the ball for the Pigs in the series finale. Vasquez was tagged with the loss on Wednesday vs. Buffalo after giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits while walking four and fanning a pair in 6.2 IP. The southpaw has allowed two earned runs or less in five of his last seven starts. Vasquez is 1-1 with an 8.00 ERA in two previous starts against the Chiefs this season.

RHP Taylor Hill (3-10, 5.18) will be on the bump for manager Billy Gardner Jr.'s squad on Monday. The right-hander was dealt the loss in his last start on Wednesday vs. Rochester when he surrendered four runs on eight hits to go along with a walk and three strikeouts over five innings of work. Hill will be making his second start of the year against Lehigh Valley. Back on May 19 in Syracuse, he got a no-decision but gave up four runs on 11 hits in 4.0 IP vs. the Pigs.

After notching an RBI single on Sunday, Pigs 1B Tommy Joseph has now hit safely in seven of his last 9 games. Joseph is hitting .344 (11-32)-0-5 with three doubles and two runs scored in that span.
