RHP Alec Asher tossed seven shutout innings and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (52-63) backed him with 12 runs in a 12-0 win over the Columbus Clippers (63-51) on Saturday night at Huntington Park.
Asher (1-0) gave up three hits to go along with two walks and two strikeouts in his 7.0 IP.
The 12 runs matches a season-high for manager Dave Brundage's squad.
A five-run second opened up a 5-0 lead for the IronPigs as Logan Moore knocked home a pair with a two-run double and two batters later, Tyler Henson hit a three-run blast off of Clippers starter Shaun Marcum. The home run was Henson's second of the season.
Chris McGuiness' two-run double in the top of the fifth extended the lead to 7-0 for Lehigh Valley.
Marcum (7-3) gave up seven runs on ten hits while walking three and fanning three over five innings of work.
In the top of the sixth, a trio of walks loaded the bases for Aaron Altherr who came through with an RBI single to give the Pigs an 8-0 advantage.
Four more runs in the seventh opened up a 12-0 lead for the IronPigs as Brian Bogusevic plated a pair with a two-run double, Chase d'Arnaud delivered an RBI single and Henson drew a bases-loaded walk in the inning.
Bogusevic's double extended his hitting streak to six games.
