MARIETTA, Ga. - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs announced its Player of the Week for April 25 through May 2. Outfielder Phillip Ervin of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos earned Player of the Week honors.

Entering with a .179 batting average, Ervin exploded last week with a .467 average, 10 runs, five extra-base hits, 18 total bases, three homeruns, four stolen bases, a .579 on-base percentage, a whopping 1.200 slugging percentage and OPS of 1.779, all top-five numbers in the circuit. His otherworldly slugging and OPS percentages led all of Minor League Baseball over the last seven days.

The Mobile, Alabama, native and resident stole a base in four consecutive games from April 25 - April 30. His biggest performance of the week came on April 25, when he went 2-for-3 from the plate with three runs, a walk, stolen base, double, homerun and two RBIs to lead his club over the visiting Jackson Generals.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos return to Blue Wahoos Stadium on May 4th to face off against the Biloxi Shuckers.
