CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union played Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night at Subaru Park, tying 0-0. In the first half, both teams remained scoreless despite chances from both sides. In the 84th and 85th minute, midfielder Alejandro Bedoya and forward Julián Carranza had back to back opportunities to find the winner, but could not find the back of the net. In a last chance effort to put one away, defender Jakob Glesnes smashed a shot from outside the box in the 94th minute, but the save was secured by Kansas City. The final six shots of the game were taken by the Union, but none ultimately found the back of the net. Goalkeeper Andre Blake registered four saves to earn his first shutout of the season.
The Union return to Subaru Park on Tuesday, April 4th, where they will host Atlas F.C. in the first-leg of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Quarterfinals (8:00 p.m. ET / FS1).
