Minnesota United FC News Release
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Minnesota United announced today the club has signed MNUFC2 midfielder Emmanuel Iwe to a Short-Term Agreement, making him available for Saturday's MLS regular season road match against St. Louis CITY SC at 7:30 p.m. CT.
Iwe joined MNUFC2 after a season at St. Cloud State University and was the first Minnesota-native to be signed by MNUFC2. During the 2022 season, the midfielder made 16 appearances, 13 starts, scoring two goals and providing two assists before his season ended in August due to a ligament tear on his right foot. Additionally, Iwe made a substitute appearance for MNUFC in the international friendly against Everton FC in July 2022, his debut appearance with the First Team.
The Minnesota midfielder was signed to a Short-Term Agreement last week and entered the match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the 66th minute as a substitute, replacing Mender Garcia. Iwe notably made his Major League Soccer debut appearance in front of his home crowd at Allianz Field, recording one shot during his 24 minutes played.
