
Philadelphia Union Loan Midfielder Jack de Vries to Venezia FC

CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union announced today that the club has loaned Homegrown midfielder Jack de Vries to Italian club, Venezia FC, on a one-year loan.
The 19-year-old, who is a dual American-Dutch citizen, joins the Italian side that was recently promoted from Serie B to Serie A. Following the promotion to the top-tier Italian league in May, the club has looked to add top American talents including de Vries and fellow MLS players Tanner Tessman and Gianluca Busio from FC Dallas and Sporting Kansas City respectively.
De Vries signed a Homegrown contract with the Union that became effective on January 1, 2020. He played in four matches for the first team in 2020, making his debut in a 1-0 win over NYCFC on July 9. Prior to signing with the first team, the former Union Academy player and YSC Academy graduate played in six matches for the Union's second team, Union II.
