
Pheasants Sign Local Rookie for Final Stretch

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Pheasants signed rookie outfielder Zach Danelson on Thursday evening, expanding their roster from 22 to 23 players.
American Association rules allow for team rosters to increase to 23 for the final 10 days of the regular season.
Danelson, 26, is a true rookie and a left-handed outfielder. He played collegiate ball at Minnesota State-Mankato. In his last season in 2008, Danelson was an honorable mention to the All-North Central Conference. He currently resides in Sioux Falls.
The Pheasants begin a three game series against the Sioux City Explorers on 7:05 p.m. on Friday, August 20, in Sioux City. The game will be broadcast on Sioux Falls Sports Radio 1230-AM KWSN and www.kwsn.com.
The Sioux Falls Fighting Pheasants are members of the American Association, a 10-team independent professional baseball league playing its fifth season this summer. The Pheasants won the first-half division championship this season and will bid for their second franchise championship this September.
