Grand Prairie 7, Ft. Worth 1
Grand Prairie jumped out an early 3-0 lead and never looked back as they downed Ft. Worth 7-1. Starter Ryan Tacker was superb as he went the distance, allowing one run on seven hits while fanning eight. He improved his mark to 8-5 with the win. SS David Espinosa was the offensive star for the AirHogs, finishing 4-for-4 with two homeruns. 2B Antoin Gray also homered for the AirHogs, and 3B Greg Porter added three hits. Three other Grand Prairie hitters finished with two hits in the contest.
St. Paul 5, Lincoln 4
LF Josh Alley homered for the seventh time this season, finishing 2-for-3 to lead St. Paul to a 5-4 win over Lincoln. Kyle Foster picked up his second win as he struckout eight batters in six innings pitched. Saints 2B Brandon Carter chipped in two RBI with a double in the bottom of the sixth inning that put the Saints ahead for good. Reliver Joe D'Allesandro captured his second save as he worked a perfect ninth inning for St. Paul.
Shreveport-Bossier 6, Pensacola 2
The Captains scored all the runs they'd need in the first inning and cruised past Pensacola 6-2. Number nine hitter Jovanny Rosario tripled and drove in three as part of a 2-for-4 night. Southpaw Aaron Cunningham picked up his first victory with Shreveport-Bossier by tossing 6.1 innings and allowing just one run on six hits. 2B Jorge Alvarez drove in two runs for the Captains in a 1-for-4 effort.
Sioux Falls 12, Sioux City 11
Down 12-4 entering the bottom of the eighth inning, Sioux City's bid to become the second team in as many nights to rally from an eight-run deficit fell just short. After scoring three runs in the eighth, Explorers 1B Jacob Cruz hit a grand slam in the ninth to turn a laugher into a nailbiter. But Sioux Falls reliever Aaron Cotter, who surrendered the blast by Cruz, gathered himself and got the final outs to give the Pheasants a 12-11 triumph. The game featured a total of 31 hits and saw every starting player but one reach base safely in the contest. 1B Brandon Sing led Sioux Falls with a 3-for-4 night at the plate. Sioux Falls starter Ryan Rodriguez allowed 11 hits and six walks but just three earned runs. He got the win and improved to 11-4.
