The camp will be a first come first served basis until all team positions are fulfilled. Registration is available online only at http://www.youngstownphantoms.com/2016-futures-camp-may/
The Futures Camp will begin Friday, May 20, with registration and check-in for all participants, followed by a presentation by the Phantoms Hockey Operations staff which will focus on junior hockey, the United States Hockey League (USHL), and most importantly how the Phantoms operate its hockey program. Following the presentation, staff members will be available for a question and answer session for the players and parents in attendance.
Saturday and Sunday morning, May 21 and 22, camp participants will play a total of three games for exposure to the Phantoms' hockey operations staff. There will also be an opportunity to visit and tour the Phantoms' home arena, the Covelli Centre, in downtown Youngstown.
This camp is a great opportunity for 2001 and 2002 born players who are interested in playing for in the USHL in the near future, but are not yet ready or eligible to play in the league. It provides an experience of an extremely competitive camp, a chance to become familiar with one of the top developmental programs in the country, meet the Phantoms staff, and show their potential for the following season(s).
Phantoms Equipment Manager, Josh Famularo, will be available during the Camp to assist with equipment needs and skate sharpening for a fee. Additionally, Phantoms Athletic Trainer, Jim Schroeder, will be in attendance for basic medical needs.
Players are responsible for their own travel arrangements and meals while attending the Youngstown Phantoms Futures Camp. The Phantoms' host hotel for the 2016 Futures Camp will be at Holiday Inn Express Youngstown West - Austintown at a special attendee rate of $89.00. Please mention the Youngstown Phantoms to receive this rate.
