Chicago Steel News Release

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - Furry friends will fetch each other and frolic to the Fox Valley this Friday night, February 26th, when the Chicago Steel celebrate the Sweet 16th birthday of their lovable mascot canine, Rusty. It's Mascot Night as the Steel take on the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in USHL regular season action at the Fox Valley Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the Steel are offering a special deal for Friday's game with the Steel Family Pack.

Chicagoland mascots will meet and greet with fans of all ages throughout the evening, starting when doors open at 6:30 p.m. The night will be highlighted in the first intermission when the mascots show off their moves in an on-ice hockey game. The first rule of mascot hockey is there are no rules! Skill, finesse and hockey sense are optional.

Various activities throughout the night will allow Steel fans to interact with their mascot friends. Fans can pucker up and smooch their favorites during the Mascot Kiss Cam and boogey-down and wag their tails as part of the Rusty Dance-Off! Fans will also be invited to sing "Happy Birthday" to Rusty and snap some #WeAreSteel selfies with the mascots!

Mascots that have already RSVP'd for the party include Ozzie from the Steel's neighbors, the Kane County Cougars, Northern Illinois University's Victor E. Huskie, Spikes of the Joliet Slammers, Swiper from the Chicago Bandits and many more. Medieval Times will also be in attendance including a sword demonstration during the first intermission.

The Steel Family Pack is a special ticket package that includes four tickets (minimum), four hot dogs, four sodas (or waters) and four chuck-a-pucks starting at just $59.

To purchase tickets to Friday's Mascot Night, or any other remaining 2015-2016 Chicago Steel home game, call 855-51-STEEL, stop by the Box Office inside Fox Valley Ice Arena or visit ChicagoSteelHockeyTeam.com.
