Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
MUSKEGON, MI - The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced a trade with the Fargo Force, in which Muskegon has acquired forward Charlie Gerard, a 2nd round Phase One Draft Pick, and future considerations, in exchange for forward Will Graber.
Gerard, a Rocky River, Ohio native, is currently in his second season in the United States Hockey League, and has totaled 13 goals and 10 assists in 44 games with the Fargo Force and Madison Captiols. Gerard played 26 games for Madison this season, before being traded to Fargo in mid-December.
Last season, the 1995 birth year played for the inaugural Madison Captiols team. In 60 games, the 5'9" 185 pound forward registered 17 goals and 16 assists.
Prior to his time in the USHL, Gerard spent his youth hockey days playing for the Ohio Blue Jackets and the Cleveland Barons in the Tier One Elite Hockey League. Following the 2015-2016 USHL season, Gerard will attend Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The Muskegon Lumberjacks organization would like to thank Will Graber for all that he has done over the past two years, and wish him good luck during the remainder of his USHL career. Graber joined the Lumberjacks midway through the 2014-2015 season in a trade with the Sioux Falls Stampede. In 90 career Lumberjacks games, Graber registered eight goals and 18 assists. Graber will attend Dartmouth College following his junior hockey career.
The Muskegon Lumberjacks (18-20-5) return to action this Friday, February 26th, at L.C Walker Arena and Events Center to host the Omaha Lancers (22-18-4) for a weekend series. Friday night, the Lumberjacks will feature Dollar Beer and Dollar Dog Night.
