Peterborough Petes News Release

(Peterborough, ON)- The Peterborough Petes are excited to announce that players will be acting as Celebrity Servers at both Peterborough Boston Pizza restaurant locations from 6-8:30pm on Monday, December 29, 2014. Members of the community are encouraged to attend either the 821 Rye St. or 1164 Chemong Rd. Boston Pizza location to help the Petes support the Kawartha Food Share and Project Shutout Hunger.

Ten Petes players will be at each restaurant during the event, and Boston Pizza will donate 10% of each bill to the Kawartha Food Share through the Project Shutout Hunger program. In addition, players will have free autograph cards that they will sign and give away to customers.

At 8pm, Petes forward Nick Ritchie and Team Canada will take on defending champion Team Finland in the World Junior Hockey Championship in Montreal. The game will be showed on several big screens in each Boston Pizza location.

"We are proud to join the Petes in supporting the Kawartha Food Share and Project Shutout Hunger," said Allen Cowitz, Boston Pizza Peterborough Community Relations Coordinator. "Boston Pizza is committed to helping ensure no-one in our community goes hungry, especially during the holiday season."

Steve Sullivan, Kawartha Food Share General Manager, added that "we are thankful for the support of the Peterborough Petes and Boston Pizza - two important members of our community. Project Shutout Hunger has helped us to continue assisting over 7,600 men, women, and children each month through our 36 member agencies. Last year, Kawartha Food Share distributed over $10 million worth of food and emergency care needs."
