Martin to Miss Remainder of Season

MISSISSAUGA, ON - Steelheads goaltender Spencer Martin will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his knee on December 21st in the first period of the Steelheads 5-4 win over the Sudbury Wolves.

Martin, a Colorado Avalanche prospect has appeared in 31 games for the Steelheads this season with a record of 15-13-0-1. Cameron Zanussi will take the reins in Martin's absence after recording his first win of the season in the same game on Dec 21st. Zanussi was drafted by the Steelheads at the 2012 OHL Priority Selection. Zanussi will be joined in net by Leif Hertz who was with the team for yesterday's game against the Niagara Ice Dogs.

Hertz, a Kingston native was drafted by the Steelheads at the 2013 OHL Priority Selection and has spent this season with the Nepean Raiders of the CCHL.

The Steelheads hit the road this week as they take on the Sudbury Wolves on Tuesday and the Belleville Bulls on Thursday before returning home on Friday to take on Dylan Strome and the visiting Erie Otters at the Hershey Centre.
