Petes Fall Short in Comeback Effort against Storm

(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes scored three goals in the second period to come within one, but the Guelph Storm skated to a 5-3 victory on Thursday night at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, Erik ?ermák, and Brady Hinz scored consecutive goals less than five minutes apart in the second period to bring the score to 4-3 before the Storm added a third period empty netter.

?ermák, Hinz, Adam Timleck, Nick Robertson, Chris Paquette, and Ryan Merkley each had one assist.

Hunter Jones stopped 18 of 22 shots in the first period before Tye Austin turned away all 16 shots faced through the remainder of the game. The Petes were 1/4 on the power play and 2/2 on the penalty kill.

The Petes visit the Ottawa 67's at 7:00pm on Friday, January 18 before returning to action on home ice on Saturday, January 19, hosting the Sarnia Sting at 7:05pm. Tickets are available through the Baker Tilly Box Office in person, over the phone at (705) 743-3561, and online.
