Perry Named Can-Am League Player Of The Month For July

Worcester, MA -- PA Sportsticker, the official statistician of the Can-Am League, has selected Worcester Tornadoes C/DH Patrick Perry as the B45 Player of the Month for the month of July.

Perry had a stellar month for the Tornadoes, batting .360 (36-100) with 5 home runs and 25 RBIs. He scored 23 runs and walked (15) more often than he struck out (12) over the course of the month. The Longmont, CO resident also hit five doubles to along with a .560 slugging percentage and a .445 on-base percentage. He delivered two walkoff hits, a double in the bottom of the 9th to beat New Jersey on July 8th, then capped off his tremendous month with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 10th to take down Nashua on July 31st. Perry is batting .327 on the season, with six home runs, 40 RBI, 14 doubles and 72 hits. The 24-year-old was a Player of the Week recipient for July 2nd-July 8th.

Perry was a seventh round selection of the Boston Red Sox in the 2004 MLB draft. He played two seasons with the Red Sox before coming over to the Tornadoes in 2006. Last season for Worcester, he hit .246 with 16 runs scored, 30 hits and 11 RBI in 42 games played in an injury-shortened season.
