Seven different Surf batters registered hits against the Jackals, led by C Wally Rosa, who knocked a run in and scored one of his own on a 4-for-5 night. The Surf got the scoring started early, scratching across three runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by a LF Ed Montague two-run triple. Montague went 2-for-5 on the night with a run and two RBI. On the mound for Atlantic City, starting pitcher Brian Rodaway allowed one run on seven hits with two walks and six strikeouts in seven innings to pick up his 10 win of the season. Rodaway is the first Can-Am League pitcher to reach the 10-win plateau this season. For the Jackals, 3B Wilton Veras and SS Guillermo Reyes each went 2-for-3 with a run.

Nashua 15, Worcester 6

Already leading 3-0 in the top of the second inning, Nashua got a bases-clearing double from SS Olmo Rosario to take a commanding six-run lead. But the scoring didn't stop there for the Pride. Nashua rattled off four more runs in the inning to take a 10-1 lead into the bottom of the frame. The Tornadoes got as close as four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. But the Pride scored five runs in the last four innings to take a decisive 15-6 win. Nashua CF Richard Giannotti had perhaps the most impressive night at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. For the Tornadoes, SS Omar Pena went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Sussex 4, Quebec 2

Locked in a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning, the Skyhawks jumped on top with a five-hit four-run inning and never looked back. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Quebec pulled to within two runs on a solo home run by 1B Eddie Lantigua, but that was as close as they would get. The homer for Lantigua was his 15th of the season, tying him with New Jersey's Sandy Madera for the league lead. Skyhawks starting pitcher Ryan Dittfurth earned the victory, his fifth of the season, after pitching 6.1 innings and allowing a run on five hits with three walks and eight strikeouts. Offensively, Sussex was led by 1B Jabe Bergeron, who went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

North Shore 3, New Haven County 2

The Cutters took a two-run lead over the Spirit in the bottom of the fifth inning Thursday night, thanks to an RBI double by 3B Junior Zamora. North Shore would take that lead into the eighth inning, when a two-run home run by North Shore LF Mike Torres tied the game at 2-2. Later in the frame, C Alex Trezza picked up his second hit of the game, a triple that brought in the go-ahead run from second base. Spirit starting pitcher Matthew Bishop did not figure in the decision, but had a quality start, pitching six innings while allowing two runs, one earned, on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Spirit closer Derek Drage earned his seventh save of the season after pitching a perfect ninth inning.

Grays 14, Brockton 9

For four innings Thursday night in Brockton, the Rox and Grays battled in a classic pitchers' duel. After the first four frames, the teams had a combined four hits, with the starting pitchers accounting for five strikeouts between them. But that all changed in the fifth inning. The Grays scored two runs in the top of the inning to take the first lead of the game. But the Rox answered right back in the bottom of the frame with six runs of their own. The Grays trailed 8-6 entering the top of the seventh inning, but used six hits to plate seven base runners and take a five-run lead. The inning was highlighted by a three-run blast by Grays SS Charles Jeroloman, his only hit of the night. For the Rox, RF Tony Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
