Waterloo Bucks News Release

Rochester, MN - The Northwoods League has named Waterloo Bucks third baseman Cameron Perkins and pitcher Mike Wisecarver to the 2011 Postseason All-Star Team. The pair was named to the honorary squad through a vote of the NWL's coaches and members of the media.

Perkins,a sophomore from Purdue University, leads the team in hitting with a .339 average in 61 games for Waterloo. The former Seattle Mariners draft pick (42ndround, 2009) has 81 hits, 46 runs, 18 doubles, nine home runs, 45 RBI, 128 total bases, 13 stolen bases, a .409 on-base percentage, and a .536 slugging percentage on the season, all of which lead the Bucks. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Perkins ranks second in the NWL in hits, fourth in hitting and RBI, fifth in doubles and slugging percentage, and leads the South Division in total bases and extra-base hits (28).

Wisecarver,a junior from Nicholls State University, leads Waterloo in ERA with a 1.91 mark and wins with a 6-0 record, despite leaving the team on July 25 after reaching his school-imposed innings limit for the year. The left-handed pitcher had 44 strikeouts in nine starts and held batters to a .225 average. The Kenner, Louisiana native's ERA is the best in the South Division and on June 22, versus the Madison Mallards, threw the only shutout in the Division this season.

The Bucks start their final homestand of the season tonight, a two-game set versus the Wisconsin Woodchucks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm. Single-game tickets are currently on sale. All home and road games may be heard on Brite 95.3 KQMG and online. Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com.
