Peoria Pirates Kevin Brown was selected the ADT Defensive Player of the Week vs. the Tulsa Talons by the af2 league offices.
Brown (5-8, 190, South Dakota State) had 6 tackles, forced and made the game winning play when he intercepted Tulsa Quarterback Bob Bees with less that 35 seconds remaining in the game to give the Pirates the National Conference Championship and a chance for a second af2 Arena Cup Title.
This is the second time during the playoffs that Brown has earned this award. Brown again intercepted a pass in the endzone to give the Pirates their first playoff victory in 2004.
The Peoria Pirates travel to Florida to take on the Florida Firecats on August 27, 2004 for a chance to be crowned "af2 Arena Cup Champions." This game is a repeat of the 2002 contest in which the Pirates defeated the Firecats 65-47 win the 2002 af2 Arena Cup. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:10 EST.
