NAPLES, Fla. - The af2 League office and Florida Firecats plan to donate a portion of the proceeds from the 2004 ArenaCup to the Red Cross relief fund for victims of Hurricane Charley.
"With Florida earning the right to host the 2004 ArenaCup, we knew we had an incredible opportunity to come down to Southwest Florida and participate in the Red Cross relief effort.," af2 Executive Director Jay Marcus said. "We are happy to lend support to this fund and hope the game on Friday can bring some joy to the area as residents work to rebuild their lives."
"We would not have agreed to host this game if we didn't think this would have a positive impact for our community," Firecats General Manager Chris Vallozzi said. "We are honored to be able to host this event and hope it can aid in the healing process, not only financially, but also emotionally."
