DOWN TO TWO... The 2004 af2 season will culminate this Friday night in Ft. Myers, Florida. In a rematch of the 2002 ArenaCup the Peoria Pirates will take on the Florida Firecats. The Pirates defeated Tulsa 30-28 last Saturday while the Firecats beat Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 41-31 on Sunday evening to advance. AXE IS OUT AND ABOUT... Axe will be appearing at Noah's Ark Pets on Saturday, Aug 28, from Noon-2:00 celebrating their 25th anniversary. They will be giving away prizes, have great deals on pet food and all kinds of celebration activities. Plus folks can come out and see Axe. Noah's Ark is located at 7529 Outer Loop.

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN... Once again Fire players and coaches are helping out at area high schools this season. Fire FB/LB Demetrius Forney is at Clarksville High School in Southern Indiana and the Generals lost to New Albany, 32-6, last weekend. Former Fire WR/LB Alfonzo Browning is at North Harrison High in Southern Indiana and they lost to West Washington, 16-7. On the Kentucky side Coach Johnson is volunteering at Kentucky Country Day who defeated Lexington Christian, 26-25 last weekend. Fire assistant coach Oscar Brohm is at Trinity and the Rocks beat Montgomery Bell (TN), 35-7. Fire WR/DB Tony "the Tiger" Stallings is at Atherton High School and they lost to Shawnee, 38-6. Fire owner Will Wolford is back at his alma mater St. X helping out and the Tigers beat Scott County, 33-7. Fire Line Coach Adam Shackelford is also an assistant coach at Anderson University just outside of Indianapolis. Fire OL/DL Andrew Tippins is a graduate assistant at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. We will keep you updated each week on how everyone is doing.
