
Four Finalists Named for Miss Louisville Fire

Louisville, KY - On July 9th the Louisville Fire hosted the first ever Miss Louisville Fire contest. The preliminary rounds were hosted at Wildwood County Club. Thirteen young ladies ranging from 19-25 years of age were judged in two categories-bathing suit and a question and answer section. The ladies were judged by celebrity judges B96.5's Mark Gunn, 105.1 WLRS's Skinny J, the Courier-Journal Buzz columnist Angie Fenton, and Big Talk on Small Business's Kelly Kuerzi. Afternoon Underdogs, Tony Vanetti, interviewed all of the ladies.
""This was a very successful event," stated the Stacey Groneck, Director of Corporate Sales who ran the Miss Louisville Fire event. "It was a great competition; all of the girls had wonderful personalities and were beautiful. It was a hard decision; in fact we had a tie for the third finalist and we decided the only fair thing was to name four finalist. The entire evening was a grand evening. All of the attendees had entertainment and food catered by P.F. Chang's Chinese Bistro. Even though we just got done with the first Miss Louisville Fire contest, we are looking forward to the second Miss Louisville Fire competition."
The winner of the competition will receive a prize package worth over $3,000. The winner of the Miss Louisville Fire contest will get a $1,600 package from Cosmo Modeling Agency, which includes a 6-hour photo shoot, with a photographer and make-up. Planet Beach is giving the winner tanning products and spa packages for a year worth $700. Beauty First, who is the exclusive hair and make-up artist on the Miss Louisville Fire competition, is offering a year's worth of salon services and products.
Rachel Albers, Liz Horrall, Shekina Huffman, and La'Princess Jackson advanced to the finals and the winner will be crowned at halftime of the Fire vs. Albany Conquest game on Saturday, July 12th. At halftime each of these girls will model their evening gowns and then one of them will be crowned Miss Louisville Fire.
The winner will become the newest member of the Louisville Fire family. She will become a spokes person for the Fire and be at community events, games, and seen in Louisville on billboards and television ads.
Fire fans will have the opportunity to decide the winner of the first ever Miss Louisville Fire competition. Fans can visit www.louisvillefirefootball.com to see all of the girls who competed in the contest and vote for their favorite finalist. The fans vote will count for 20% of the final total.
The Louisville Fire will take on the Albany Conquest on Saturday, July 12, 2008. The first 2,000 Fire fans will receive a team poster presented by BB&T, Moore Security, and Clark and Riggs. In addition to the game, fans will meet the first ever Miss Louisville Fire who will be crowned at halftime.
The Miss Louisville Fire competition is sponsored by P.F. Changs, Cosmo Modeling Agency, Planet Beach, Beautyfirst, 105.1 WLRS, and WGZB 96.5.
