Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

Atlantic City, NJ – Alfie Michaud stopped 26 shots and Kris Kasper was credited with the game-winning goal to lead the Peoria Rivermen to a 2-1 win over the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies before 2277 at Historic Boardwalk Hall in ECHL action Saturday. The Bullies are now winless in their last three games at home.

After a scoreless first period, Peoria (20-16-4) struck first when Tyler Rennette collected Trevor Baker's rebound in the slot and beat Bullies goaltender Trevor Koenig above the left shoulder 32 seconds into the second period for a 1-0 lead. Kasper made it 2-0 at 11:51, re-directing Aaron Forsythe's point shot through Koenig's pads to increase Peoria's advantage. Colin Shields brought Atlantic City to within a goal at 16:34 of the second. Shields took a feed at the left-wing circle, broke in alone on Michaud, and slipped the puck through his pads to cut the Bullies deficit to 2-1, but that was as close as they would get.

Peoria out-shot Atlantic City 28-27. Koenig stopped 26 shots to fall to 11-7-2. The Bullies went 0-4 on the power play.

The Bullies travel to Dayton at 7PM Tuesday to open a two-game, three-day road trip against the Bombers at the EJ Nutter Center. Catch all the action beginning with "Bullies Countdown" at 6:40PM on ESPN Radio 1450 and the SurferNetwork.
