Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced that center Derek Edwardson has been loaned to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.

Edwardson, 23, begins his second stint in Grand Rapids and makes his third trip to the AHL this season. The Morton Grove, IL native was loaned to the Griffins on December 22 for two games, and then loaned to Bridgeport on December 28, also for two games. Edwardson has yet to record a point in the AHL.

Edwardson leads the Bullies and is second among ECHL rookies in scoring with 16 goals and 41 points. The rookie center recently joined captain Luke Curtin at the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game in Reading where he was the co-winner of the accuracy shooting skill competition and potted a goal in the National Conference's 6-2 win over the American Conference.
