Cameron's Hat Trick Leads Bombers To Big Win In Charlotte

Charlotte, NC – The Dayton Bombers bombed the Charlotte Checkers, 7-1, in front of 5,836 at Cricket Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday night. It was the largest margin of victory this season, and the game marked the return of Bombers head coach/GM DON MACADAM, who coached the Checkers franchise from 2000-2004 before coming to Dayton this season.

The Dayton Bombers opened the scoring when SCOTT CAMERON buried a rebound past Checkers goaltender Alex Westlund at 16:16 of the first period, and the Bombers led 1-0 after 20 minutes.

Cameron' second goal of the night gave Dayton a 2-0 lead at 6:52 of the second period. Then, TYLER KOLARIK scored his team-leading 14th goal of the season, on the powerplay, to make it 3-0 at 7:29. Cameron completed the three-goal "hat trick" with his 10th of the season at 18:21, and the Bombers took a 4-0 lead into the second intermission. Dayton also recorded a season-high 18 shots on goal in period two.

BEN KNOPP (4:09), TYLER SCOTT (5:24), and TYLER KOLARIK (11:06) added third period goals for the Bombers, while Stephen Greeley broke the shutout bid of MIKE AYERS with his first of the season at 5:47 of the third period. The bombers snapped a 5-game losing streak with the 7-1 win. AARON FOSTER was named the first star with 4 assists in the winning effort.

The Dayton Bombers will host their annual "Guns and Hoses" game for area police officers and firefighters on February 18th when the Johnstown Chiefs invade the Nutter Center at 7:00 PM. . For tickets and information call, the Bombers' office at 937-775-4747.
