
Penguins Reduce Training Camp Roster

WILKES-BARRE, PA. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have reduced their training camp from 32 players to 22, it was announced today by Head Coach Glenn Patrick.
The Penguins have assigned eight players to the Wheeling Nailers training camp. The eight players assigned to Wheeling were goaltender Mark Scally, defensemen Dan Kotowitz and David Vychodil and forwards Joe Guenther, Chris McNamara, Mike Nelson, Stuart Pietersma and Tim Preston.
The Penguins also released two players - forward Jacques Lariviere and defenseman Mike Liebro.
The Penguins training camp roster now stands at 22 players - two goaltenders, six defensemen and 14 forwards.
All practices for the upcoming week (September 30-October 6) will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12 noon at the First Union Arena at Casey Plaza.
The Penguins will resume their 2002 preseason schedule next Saturday, October 5, when the defending Eastern Conference champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers visit the First Union Arena at Casey Plaza (7:05 p.m. start).
Approximately 600 tickets are still available for the game against the Sound Tigers. Tickets can be purchased at the First Union Arena Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations and telephone outlets.
Ticket prices for the Penguins' 2002-03 season are set at $29.25 (Yellow Zone), $18.75 (Red Zone), $16.75 (Gold Zone) and $12.50 (Blue Zone).
