November 12, 2002 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have recalled forward Brendan Walsh from Atlantic City of the East Coast Hockey League, it was announced today by Head Coach Glenn Patrick.
Walsh, 28, was assigned to Atlantic City on October 28. In six games with the Boardwalk Bullies, he had two assists and 40 penalty minutes.
Prior to being assigned to Atlantic City, Walsh did not dress in any of the Penguins' first seven games of the 2002-03 season. Walsh missed the first five games due to a league-imposed suspension (October 10-19) and was a healthy scratch in two games (Oct. 25-26).
He split the 2001-02 season between the Penguins and their East Coach Hockey League affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. Walsh recorded four points (2+2) and 184 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Penguins and collected 22 points (7+15) and 168 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Nailers.
The 5'9" and 190-pound native of Dorchester, Mass. was re-signed by the Penguins to a two-way contract (AHL/ECHL) on September 5, 2002.
With the addition of Walsh, the Penguins now have 26 players on their roster - eight defensemen, 16 forwards and two goaltenders.
