
Penguins recall Chiodo and Fata from Wheeling, reassign Sabourin to Nailers

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. â The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today recalled defenseman Drew Fata and goaltender Andy Chiodo from their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. The club also announced that they have reassigned goaltender Dany Sabourin to the Nailers.
Fata, 22, was reassigned to Wheeling on Saturday and appeared in two games over the weekend with the Nailers, going scoreless with four penalty minutes and a plus-three rating. Overall, in eight games with the Nailers this season, he has recorded one assist and 28 penalty minutes.
The 6'1", 209-pound native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario has appeared in 19 games with the Penguins this season, recording two points (1+1) and 52 penalty minutes.
Fata was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round (86TH overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Chiodo, 21, was reassigned to Wheeling for the second time this season on January 3 and appeared in two games, posting a record of 1-0-1 with a 1.38 goals against average and a .935 save percentage. Overall, in four games with the Nailers this season, he has a record of 2-1-1 and a 1.69 goals against average.
The 5'11", 194-pound native of Toronto, Ontario has a record of 3-6-1 and a 3.58 goals against average with one shutout in 11 games with the Penguins this season.
He was selected by Pittsburgh in the seventh round (199TH overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Sabourin, 24, was recalled by the Penguins for the second time this on January 3 and appeared in two games, posting a 0-1-1 record and a 3.88 goals against average. Overall, in four games with the Penguins this season, he has a record of 1-2-1 and a 2.39 goals against average.
The 6'2", 182-pound native of Val-d'Or, Quebec has a 16-5-1 record with a 1.60 goals against average and five shutouts in 23 games with Wheeling this season.
Sabourin was signed by the Penguins to an American Hockey League contract on September 25, 2004. He was originally selected by Calgary in the fifth round (108th overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
The Penguins begin a four-game road trip on Friday when they visit the Binghamton Senators (7:05 p.m. start).
