Vince Macri Recalled From Atlantic City

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of defenseman Vince Macri from the ECHL's Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Macri, who signed an NHL contract with the Islanders this past August, has appeared in six AHL games with the Sound Tigers and also posted four goals, seven assists, 11 points and 42 penalty minutes in 27 games with Atlantic City this season. This is Macri's second recall to Bridgeport this season.

Macri, 23, played his first professional game last March 26th in Philadelphia, assisting on the Sound Tigers' lone goal in a road loss to the Philadelphia Phantoms. He first joined the Sound Tigers on a tryout contract after posting career highs of six goals, nine assists, 15 points and 52 penalty minutes in 31 games during his senior season at Brown University last year. Macri totaled 12 goals, 21 assists, 33 points and 157 penalty minutes in 106 games during his four years at Brown.

The Sound Tigers will finish a stretch of seven straight road games when they visit the Hartford Wolf Pack tomorrow at 7:05 p.m., the Providence Bruins Friday at 7:05 p.m., Hartford again Saturday at 7:35 p.m. and the Lowell Lock Monsters Sunday at 4 p.m. All Sound Tigers games are web cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Most games, including those this Friday and Sunday, are also broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM.
