
Penguins re-assign Chiodo, Corupe and Robinson to Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. â The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today reassigned goaltender Andy Chiodo, forward Kenny Corupe and defenseman Darcy Robinson to their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers.
Corupe, 25, has recorded two assists and two penalty minutes in 14 games this season with the Penguins. In 31 games with the Nailers this season, he has registered 22 points (6+16) and 18 penalty minutes. Corupe was recalled by the Penguins from Wheeling on January 6.
The 6'1", 195-pound native of Hamilton, Ontario appeared in 58 games last season with Louisiana (ECHL), recording 55 points (18+37) and 37 penalty minutes. Corupe ranked fourth on the team in assists and fifth in scoring.
Corupe was signed by the Penguins to an American Hockey League contract on October 24, 2004.
Chiodo, 21, has a record of 4-7-1 and a 3.54 goals against average with one shutout in 13 games with the Penguins this season. He has missed the last 14 games with an ankle injury.
The 5'11", 194-pound native of Toronto, Ontario has also appeared in four games with the Nailers this season, posting a record of 2-1-1 and a .933 save percentage.
Chiodo was selected by Pittsburgh in the seventh round (199TH overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Robinson, 23, has appeared in 13 games with the Penguins this season, going scoreless with 49 penalty minutes. In three games with the Nailers this season, he is scoreless with two penalty minutes. Robinson was assigned to Wheeling on November 24 and recalled by the Penguins on Nov. 30.
The 6'3", 215-pound native of Kamloops, British Columbia has appeared in 158 career games with the Penguins, recording 21 points (3+18) and 237 penalty minutes. In 14 career games with Wheeling, he has registered six points (2+4) and 45 penalty minutes.
Robinson was drafted by Pittsburgh in the eighth round (233RD overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
With the roster moves, the Penguins now have 23 players on their roster - two goaltenders, seven defensemen and 14 forwards.
The Penguins (27-16-5-6, 65 points; T-4TH-Place, East Division) host the Manitoba Moose (34-13-1-6, 75 points; 2ND-Place, North Division) on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. Approximately 225 tickets are still available for the game.
.The first 3,500 fans through the gates on Wednesday will receive a set of Penguins trading cards, compliments of Gallery of Sound.
