Pendleton Promoted to Tenton

(Altoona, PA)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that RHP Lance Pendleton has been promoted from Tampa (High-A) to Trenton. Pendleton is scheduled to make his Double-A debut for Trenton on Saturday night in Altoona.

Pendleton posted an 11-5 record with a 2.65 ERA in 20 appearances (18 starts) for Tampa. The right-hander ranks 2nd in the Florida State League in victories, and 4th in overall ERA. In 2008, he spent the entire season with Charleston (Low-A) and made 28 appearances (23 starts) with a 7-9 record and a 3.52 ERA. The Houston, Texas native was selected by the Yankees in the 4th round of the 2005 Draft out of Rice University.

Trenton and Altoona begin a three-game series tonight from Blair County Ballpark in Altoona, PA. LHP Jeremy Bleich (1-4, 6.48) will start for Trenton. He will be opposed by LHP Phil Dumatrait (0-0, 0.00), who will be making a Major League rehabilitation start for Altoona. Game time is set for 7:05 pm.
