(MYRTLE BEACH, SC) Mycal Jones giveth, and he taketh away. Jones capped a roller-coaster night with a walkoff home run in the twelfth inning that sent Myrtle Beach to a 7-6 victory over the Potomac Nationals on a muggy Tuesday night.

For much of the game, however, it looked as though Jones would be the goat in a P-Nats victory. The shortstop's two errors led to four unearned runs and a 5-2 Nats lead in the fifth inning.

But Myrtle chipped away to tie the game - led by Jones's RBI single in the bottom of the fifth. The teams would trade runs in the seventh to knot the score at six, where the tally remained until Jones's game-ending blast.

The Pelicans struck right out of the gates. Travis Jones hit a deep shot to left field in the first inning off Trevor Holder - making his first performance for Potomac in 2010 - that opened the scoring.

But Holder held the Pelicans scoreless for the next two innings with a pair of strikeouts. Mike Burgess gave the Nats their first lead in the third with his sixth home run, a towering blast to right field. Samuel Sime tied at at two with a two-out triple to deep right field in the fourth inning.

Holder would depart after five innings; he allowed three earned runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking none.

Patrick McCoy, Zach Dials and Clayton Dill combined to pitch five scoreless innings to keep the game tied into the twelfth. Dill's 1-0 fastball got rocketed over the short porch in left to end the proceedings.

The two clubs resume the series Wednesday night at 7:05 P.M. Evan Bronson takes the ball against young phenom Julio Teheran. The pregame show begins online at 6:50.
