
Pelicans Sign Gary Clark to Two-Way Contract, Squadron Acquire Darius Adams

BIRMINGAHM, Ala. - The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed forward Gary Clark to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. As part of the two-way contract, Clark will be a member of both the Pelicans and the Birmingham Squadron's roster.
Clark (6-6, 225) initially joined the Pelicans in December as a call-up from the Mexico City Capitanes and appeared in eight games (one start) this season with New Orleans before being signed to a two-way contract. The Smithfield, North Carolina native has played in 140 NBA games over the last three seasons with the Houston Rockets (2018-20), Orlando Magic (2020-21), Denver Nuggets (2021), Philadelphia 76ers (2021) and New Orleans Pelicans (2021). He holds career averages of 3.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists and has shot .350 from the field and .319 from behind the arc.
In a corresponding move, the Pelicans waived two-way player Jared Harper.
The Squadron have also acquired guard Darius Adams. Adams (6-2, 185) boasts a seven-year international career, including time in China (2016-21), Spain (2014-16), France (2013, 2014), Germany (2013-14), Ukraine (2012-13), Venezuela (2012) and the Dominican Republic (2012).
During his time in the Chinese CBA (2016-21), Adams averaged over 30.0 points per game in four of the last five seasons. Over his professional career, the Decatur, Illinois native has won numerous awards including the CBA International MVP (2019), CBA Finals MVP (2017), CBA Scoring Champion (2018), ACB scoring champion (2016), BBL Best Offensive Player (2014), BBL scoring champion (2014) and LPB All-Star (2012) along with championships in the CBA (2017) and the Asia Champions Cup (2016).
The Squadron's roster now stands at 13.
