
Pelicans Put Playoff Tickets on Sale

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Sunday's Pelicans victory over division leader Winston-Salem clinches Myrtle Beach's playoff berth, the second consecutive year the Rangers' High-A affiliate in the Carolina League has qualified for the post-season. The team 's box office located at TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark will begin selling tickets for up to three potential, home playoff games at 10 a.m. Tuesday (August 28th). The website www.myrtlebeachpelicans.com will also offer fans the opportunity to purchase tickets for playoff games in Myrtle Beach starting Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Ticket prices for Pelicans home playoff games will be $11 for field box seats, $9 for reserved box and Grand Strand reserved seats and $8 for seats in the leftfield Budweiser Thirst Inning Deck.
The last week of the regular season will determine whether Myrtle Beach hosts a game in the divisional series slated to start Wednesday, September 5th. If the Pelicans overtake the Dash as the 2nd half Southern Division Champion, Myrtle Beach will host game #1 on September 5th at 7:05 pm. Otherwise, the entire first round, best-of-three games series between the Dash and Pelicans will take place in Winston-Salem.
If the Pelicans advance to the Carolina League Championship Series, a best-of-five game match-up, Myrtle Beach would host games #1 & #2 scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, September 8th & 9th. The series shifts to the home city of the Northern Division Champion for game #3 on Tuesday, September 11th and games #4/#5 (September 12th & 13th) if necessary, to determine the Mills Cup winner.
2012 CAROLINA LEAGUE PLAYOFF SCHEDULE
Divisional Series-1st Round (Best-of-three games)
Winston-Salem vs. Myrtle Beach; If the Dash wins 2nd half title, all games will be played in W-S. If MB wins 2nd half title, Pelicans will host game #1 and travel to W-S for games #2 & #3, if necessary.
