(WOODBRIDGE, VA) - The Washington Nationals have announced that infielders Anthony Rendon and Jason Martinson are among the contingent to play in this season's prestigious Arizona Fall League. They're joined by 2011 P-Nat Paul Demny on the roster for for the Salt River Rafters.

Martinson, 23, is the only player in MiLB with 100 runs and 100 RBI and is also the first Washington minor leaguer to ever achieve the feat. A 2010 5th Round pick out of Texas State, Martinson leads the Washington system with 106 RBI on the season which is also the second highest mark ever for a Washington farmhand (Tyler Moore, 111 - 2010). His 104 runs also lead the Nationals system as he ranks in the top five in RBI and runs scored in MiLB. Starting the year with Hagerstown (A - South Atlantic League) and joining Potomac at the All-Star Break, Martinson has also stolen 30 bases making him just the second Washington Farmhand to join the 20/30 club (Justin Maxwell - 2007).

Rendon, 22, was the sixth overall pick of the 2012 MLB Draft and started the season with Potomac. He injured his ankle in the second game of the year but returned August 7th and played in nine contests with the P-Nats. He hit .333 over those games with five extra-base hits sporting a tremendous 1.067 OPS with Potomac. The Texas native is currently playing with the Harrisburg Senators (AA - Eastern League).

Paul Demny joins Rendon and Martinson on the Salt River roster. Demny, 23, pitched for Potomac in 2011 posting a 4.32 ERA and 10-10 record over 26 starts with 108 strikeouts. This year with Harrisburg, the 2008 draft pick has made 23 starts and has struck out 95 batters.
