OVERVIEW ... The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are celebrating their 15th Anniversary season on the Grand Strand and are in their third season as the Advanced-A affiliates of the Texas Rangers. More than 3 million fans have attended a regular season Pelicans game since the franchise's inception in 1999. The team has won more than 1,000 regular season games in the last 15 seasons.

LAST NIGHT ... The Pelicans used eight extra base hits to pound out a season-high 11 runs Saturday in an 11-5 series-evening win against the Potomac Nationals. Trever Adams tallied three hits and matched a career-high with four knocked in while Royce Bolinger, Kellin Deglan and Drew Robinson each notched a pair of hits. The Pelicans trailed 4-1 after two innings and 5-3 after the third but reeled off the final eight runs of the game. Adams and Deglan each smacked their fourth home runs of the season.

OFFENSIVE ERUPTION ... In addition to a season-high run total, the team's 13 hits was one shy of matching a season best. Eight of the 13 hits were extra base hits. It was the Pelicans first 11-run game since beating Potomac 11-2 on August 9 of last season. Nick McBride earned the win in that game in front of a sellout crowd at TicketReturn.com Field.

HOME RUNS ... All four of Trever Adams' home runs have come on the road this season. Adams did not hit his fourth home run last year until July 3rd. With four home runs in 60 at-bats, Kellin Deglan is homering once every 15 at-bats this season.

AT PFITZNER ... The Pelicans were 4-6 last season playing at the home of the Potomac Nationals. The Birds have lost their last five series at Pfitzner Stadium with their last series win coming May 2-4 during the 2011 season. On May 3, 2011, the Pelicans beat the P-Nats 20-6 back of Robbie Ross.

UP NEXT ... The Pelicans end the current road trip with a three-game series against the Potomac Nationals. The Pelicans return home on Tuesday, May 7. It will be a "Team Tuesday" presented by Sheriar Press with the first 1,000 fans receiving a Jason Heyward poster.

COACHING STAFF ... Jason Wood returns for his third season as the Pelicans skipper and his fifth as a coach in the Rangers system. He is the only Carolina League skipper to have guided his team to back-to-back postseasons in 2011 and 2012. His staff includes pitching coach Steve Mintz, hitting coach Josue Perez and assistant Humberto Miranda - all three in their first year with the Birds.
