Wichita, KS (October 8th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced on Thursday that the team has signed defenseman Theo Peckham to a contract and has been added to the training camp roster. To make room, defenseman Ray Macias has been waived.

Peckham, 27, enters his ninth year as a pro and second stint in Wichita. A native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, the 6-foot-2, 243-pound blueliner appeared in 26 games last year for the Thunder

before heading over to Europe. The former third round draft pick (#75 overall) of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft has racked up 969 penalty minutes and 73 points (18g, 55a) over his career. Peckham has appeared in 160 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers while also making stops with the Oklahoma City Barons, Rockford IceHogs and Springfield Falcons of the AHL.

The Thunder will play their exhibition game at the Wichita Ice Center against the Allen Americans. The game will take place on Saturday, October 10th, at 4:00 p.m. Immediately after, the Wichita Junior Thunder will take on the Colorado Junior Eagles. Tickets are on sale now for $12 and are only available at the Thunder office. Admission will allow fans to see both games.
