Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release
ROCHESTER, NY - Cory Pecker scored two goals to lead the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks over the Rochester Americans, 5-4, Friday at the Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.
Alexei Smirnov, Travis Brigley and Ben Guite also found the back of the net for the Ducks, who have won two in a row and moved into a tie with Rochester for second place in the Central Division.
Jean-Francois Damphousse turned away 37 shots for Cincinnati, which welcomed back defenseman Chris O'Sullivan in the lineup after he missed the previous five games with a groin injury.
Pecker, a rookie, recorded the first multiple-goal game of his career. The Anaheim prospect has netted points in four straight games, collecting four goals and one assist in that span.
Jason Botterill tallied a pair of goals for Rochester, which had its unbeaten streak halted at eight games (6-0-2-0). Chris Taylor contributed two assists to extend his point streak to 10 games.
Former Duck Tom Askey was burned for all five goals on just 13 shots for Rochester. He was replaced midway through the second period by Ryan Miller, who stopped all nine shots he faced.
The Ducks play the third game of a five-game road trip Saturday at Hamilton.
