Admirals and Predators Swap Forwards

Nashville Predators' Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that center Vern Fiddler has been reassigned to the Milwaukee Admirals and that the Predators have recalled left wing Darren Haydar. Fiddler will be in uniform for the Admirals Saturday night when they face the Chicago Wolves in Rosemont, Illinois.

Haydar, 23 (4/10/79), leads the Admirals in assists (20), points (12g-20a-32pts) and plus-minus rating (+16), and he is tied for fourth in the AHL in scoring and ranks fourth in shooting percentage (21.8%). The Toronto native, who made his NHL debut with Nashville on November 17 at Chicago, ranks among AHL rookie leaders in plus-minus rating (tied for first), points (second), assists (second), shooting percentage (second) and goals (third). Haydar was originally Nashville's 15th choice, 248th overall (ninth round), in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

Fiddler, 22 scored nine points (2g-7a) and was +10 in eight games with the Admirals prior to his call-up to Nashville on October 31st. With the Predators, Fiddler scored six points (2g-4a) in 17 games. Nashville signed the Edmonton, Alberta native as a free agent last May.

After their trip to suburban Chicago Saturday night, the Admirals return to the Bradley Center for two games following Christmas. They'll take on Chicago Thursday, December 26th and Houston Friday, December 27th. The Admirals will wear Christmas-themed jerseys both nights. The Jerseys will be auctioned-off Friday with the proceeds benefiting the Brendan Heart Fund of Children's Hospital.
