Pearson Named Most Improved Player

Barrie, ON- The Ontario Hockey League announced Thursday the 2011-12 Eastern Conference Coaches Poll winners. Four Colts were honoured in six different categories.

Barrie forward Tanner Pearson was named the Most Improved Player. The 19 year-old forward has put up career numbers this season and also played for Team Canada at the World Junior Championship.

The Kitchener native has doubled his point total from last season, and is currently third in league scoring with 36 goals and 52 assists in 58 games played.

Mark Scheifele was mentioned in three categories; Most Dangerous in the Goal Area, Best on Face-Offs, and Best Shootout Shooter.

Ivan Telegin finished tied for the Best Skater, and Anthony Camara was named the second hardest hitter in the Eastern Conference.

The Colts have clinched third place in the Eastern Conference and have two games left in the regular season.
