CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Starter Pedro Payano crafted one of the best starts of the year for the Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, but the Corpus Christi Hooks walked off with a 4-3 win in 10 innings Friday at Whataburger Field.

BIG MOMENTS

Payano worked six scoreless innings, yielding just two hits in the wake of his toughest start of the year last Saturday vs. Corpus Christi (1 2/3 IP, 9 H, 7 R/6 ER). He didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning.

After the Riders scored twice in the top of the 1oth on RBIs from Correlle Prime and Jose Trevino, the Hooks plated three runs in the bottom of the frame to walk off with the victory.

The Riders grabbed a 1-0 lead on a RBI fielder's choice from Michael O'Neill in the first and maintained the advantage until the ninth before the Hooks rallied to force extra innings. KEY RIDERS PERFORMERS

Riders starters have a collective 2.30 ERA (8 ER in 31 1/3 IP) through the first five games of the road trip, including four quality starts.
