Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
PAWTUCKET, R.I. - The Pawtucket Red Sox (49-63) salvaged the final game of their three-game series with the Rochester Red Wings (57-56) on Sunday afternoon at McCoy, topping the Wings by a 7-3 final.
For the first time in the series, the PawSox scored first.
On the first pitch of the second inning, Rusney Castillo blasted a solo home run onto the berm in left-center field to put Pawtucket up 1-0.
After both Bobby Dalbec and Jantzen Witte singled, Josh Ockimey pulled a three-run home run over the right-field fence to make it 4-0. Ockimey has now homered in two-straight games, and he now leads all Red Sox minor leaguers in home runs.
Rochester got on the board in the fourth thanks to Wilin Rosario's 16th home run of the season.
The Red Wings added another run in the sixth on an infield, RBI single from Ronald Torreyes to make it 4-2.
They scored again in the seventh after Rosario drove in another, this time on a single.
Pawtucket got some insurance in the bottom of the seventh. Juan Centeno doubled home a run, and then Cole Sturgeon drove in a run with a groundout to make it 7-3.
Kyle Hart worked 5.1 innings, giving up seven hits and two earned runs. The lefty only walked one and struck out seven. Hart has tossed at least five innings in each of his last seven outings.
The PawSox will enjoy an off day tomorrow before opening up a six-game road trip on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Columbus Clippers.
Radio coverage on WHJJ (920 AM and 104.7 FM) and throughout the PawSox Radio Network begins with the pre-game show at 6:35 p.m.
