Patton, Ransom fuel Express Win

Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK - Cody Ransom continued to make his case for a Major League call-up and Troy Patton padded his future stock as Round Rock hammered Oklahoma City for a 9-3 victory Saturday.
Ransom - who is on pace for career-highs in every offensive category - went 3-for-4 with four RBI and cranked his 18th homerun. Patton, the youngest Express player at 21-years-old, picked up his second straight home win, scattering two hits, a walk and six strikeouts.
Patton (2-1) has allowed one run in each of his starts at The Dell Diamond, allowing just six hits on eight strikeouts and one walk over 14 innings.
Leading 3-1 heading into the seventh, the Express put up six runs on five hits, including Ransom's two-out, three-run blast off Redhawks reliever Wes Littleton. Patton exited for the eighth, turning the ball over to reliever Chad Reineke with a 9-1 lead intact.
Patton joined Round Rock from Double-A Corpus Christi in early July and allowed just one run on four hits, two strikeouts and no walks over seven innings of a July 6 win over Omaha. But Patton wasn't as sharp in his second start, giving up nine runs on 10 hits, including three home runs, in a July 16 loss at Iowa.
Making his third start Saturday, the Magnolia-native retired 15 out of 16 batters between the first and sixth innings, allowing just one run on a rare play by Oklahoma City's Freddy Guzman.
Guzman walked to start the game and moved to second with one down. He then advanced to third on a Nate Gold fly-out before stealing home uncontested to put the Redhawks up 1-0.
Round Rock touched Oklahoma City starter Eric Hurley for a pair of singles in the second and finally broke through with a four-hit sixth.
Humberto Quintero led off with a single to right-center and Jesse Garcia picked up his second bunt single in as many nights before Brooks Conrad drew a two-out walk to load the bases. That's when Lane, who singled in the second inning, drove in two runs with a shot to left-center.
Ransom padded the lead with his second single of the night, pushing the lead to 3-1 with a follow-up shot to left-center.
The two teams meet Sunday at 7:05 p.m. at The Dell Diamond on "Faith Night," which will feature two pre-game concerts in the northwest parking lot from "The Afters." Catch the game live on 1260 AM, 1530 AM or at www.roundrockexpress.com.
