Trenton Thunder News Release

(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced that RHP Scott Patterson has been transferred to Tampa and RHP Geraldo Casadiego has been transferred to Trenton to fill the roster spot.

Patterson, who is a recent addition to the bullpen, made 5 appearances for the Thunder before being sent back down to Tampa. In 7.2 innings pitched, the 26 year old hurler holds a 4.70 ERA with opposing batters hitting an average of .226. He has recorded 11 strikeouts while allowing only 1 walk. Patterson spent his previous years in the independent leagues before breaking into the Yankees system this season.

Casadiego will be called up from the Tampa Yankees to fill the void left by Patterson. Casadiego has appeared in 27 games for Tampa, pitching an ERA of 3.06. He is averaging 1 strikeout per inning while recording a 1-1 record along with 14 saves.

Prior to pitching for the Yankees system, Casadiego has pitched in AA for Harrisburg from 2002-2004. Casadiego initially was signed as a non-drafted free agent to the Montreal Expos (currently Washington Nationals) in February of 1998, but was released May 20, 2004. After some time out of affiliated baseball he made his way into the Yankees system, starting out with the Tampa Yankees.

The Thunder start a three-game series with the Harrisburg Senators on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm at Waterfront Park. Tyler Clippard (3-0) will be on the mound for Trenton. Tickets are available by calling (609) 394-3300 or order on-line at www.trentonthunder.com
