Pats Win Second Straight Game with 6-4 Victory

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats won their second straight game, capturing a 6-4 victory over the Kamloops Blazers on Friday night inside the Brandt Centre.

12 different players on Regina's roster gathered at least a point tonight. Parker Berge led the way with three assists, Zane Rowan tallied two assists while Tanner Howe and Brayden Barnett each chipped in with a multi-point game (1G-1A each). Logan Peskett, Jaxsin Vaughan and Tye Spencer rounded out the scoring for the Pats, and Kelton Pyne made 32 saves for his sixth win of the season.

The Blazers dropped their third in a row. They got a two-goal performance from Jordan Keller as well as goals from Andrew Thomson and Connor Levis. Dylan Ernst made 25 saves in the loss.

"It's nice to see our offence break through in back-to-back games. If you look through the box score, we got production from all four lines tonight and that's important for our group. Secondary scoring hasn't been consistent for us this year but the last few games we've been getting big time goals in big time moments. THE GOALS

First Period

1-0 Pats at 13:55 - Logan Peskett (3), assisted by Parker Berge & Braxton Whitehead // The Pats worked the puck around the offensive zone and Berge sent a shot toward the Blazers net that Peskett deflected past Ernst to give the Pats a 1-0 lead.

Second Period

2-0 Pats at 31 seconds - Jaxsin Vaughan (6), assisted by Zane Rowan & Brayden Barnett // The Pats worked the puck deep in the Blazers zone and after the puck bounced around the goal, Vaughan was able to direct it past Ernst to give the Pats a 2-0 lead early in the second.

2-1 Blazers at 2:05 - Andrew Thomson (7), assisted by Nathan Behm & Logan Bairos // With the Blazers on an odd-man rush, Thomson let a wrist shot fly that beat Pyne to get the Blazers on the board at 2-1.

2-2 Blazers at 5:22 - Jordan Keller (6), assisted by Harrison Brunicke & Dylan Sydor // Keller's shot is stopped by Pyne but he couldn't cover it and Keller deposited the loose puck past the Pat netminder to tie the contest at 2-2.

3-2 Pats at 5:49 - Tye Spencer (6), assisted by Sam Oremba & Anthony Wilson // The Pats wreak havoc in the Blazers zone and Spencer was able to corral the puck, spin and fire it past Ernst to give the Pats a 3-2 lead.

4-2 Pats at 15:09 - Brayden Barnett (4), assisted by Zane Rowan & Parker Berge // With the Pats buzzing around the Blazers net, Barnett was able to cash in on a rebound to extend the lead to 4-2.

Third Period

5-2 Pats at 36 seconds - Borya Valis (8), assisted by Parker Berge & Tanner Howe (PP) // Berge's point shot is neatly deflected in by Valis past Ernst to give the Pats a three-goal lead at 5-2.

5-3 Blazers at 3:38 - Connor Levis (10), assisted by Emmitt Finnie // Levis's wrist shot from the left circle beat Pyne high to the glove side to pull the Blazers to within two at 5-3.

5-4 Blazers at 9:16 - Jordan Keller (7), assisted by Logan Bairos (PP) // Keller's one-timer deflected off a stick and past Pyne to get the Blazers to within a single marker on the powerplay at 5-4.

6-4 Pats at 19:55 - Tanner Howe (17), assisted by Carson Haynes & (EN) // Howe was able to hit the empty cage to seal the game with 4.7 seconds left.
