Regina Pats News Release
Game #7
Friday, October 5th
Puck Drop: 7:00 p.m.
Regina Pats (2-4-0-0) Red Deer Rebels (2-3-0-1)
Head-to-Head
Brandon Underwood makes his return to the Brandt Centre as a member of the Red Deer Rebels, just weeks after being traded to the Alberta team. The former Pat isn't the only player returning to the Brandt Centre, as Colton Jobke suits up for the first time in the regular season for the Blue and White after his time at Houston Aeros Camp. Last season, the Pats went 1-3-0-0 against the Rebels, winning their lone game of the series on home ice, 5-3. Regina comes into tonight's contest having snapped a two game slide while the Rebels have split the first two games of an extended East Division road swing. You can catch tonight's action on 620 CKRM with the Press Box Pre-Game Show starting at 6:35.
Lead Up: Pats Take First Meeting with Moose Jaw
Once again, special teams were key in the outcome of the Pats previous contest. The Blue and White scored three times on the powerplay and once shorthanded to roll out a convincing 4-1 win over their highway rivals from Moose Jaw. Morgan Klimchuk led the way with a powerplay and shorthanded goal while Chandler Stephenson tallied two assists to be named the evening's first star.
Scoring in Bunches
Morgan Klimchuk has five goals on the young season. Scoring one, has been followed by another as four of his goals have come in two games. He had a multi-goal game against Swift Current and his latest came Wednesday against the Warriors.
Pure Playmakers
Chandler Stephenson and Emil Sylvegard each have four assists in their first six games of the seasons and no goals. Sylvegard has been a powerplay specialist with all of his assists coming on the man advantage.
Friendly Confines
The Brandt Centre has been a good location for the Pats powerplay. It's operating at 45.5% efficiency, second in the WHL only to Moose Jaw's 46.2%.
Quick Hits
- Morgan Klimchuk is tied for eighth in league scoring with seven points (5G, 2A) on the young season

Who to Watch on Red Deer
Defenceman Matt Dumba is the runaway favourite in this category. The Minnesota Wild's seventh overall pick at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft is an electrifying player. For evidence, check out TSN's Honour Roll for October 3rd, Dumba captured highlight of the night honours for scoring a beautiful goal sliding through the Saskatoon zone on his knees.
