Chiefs Trade Vandane to Prince Albert

The Spokane Chiefs have announced that 20-year-old defenseman Davis Vandane has been traded to the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for a conditional draft pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

Vandane, a native of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, has appeared in 123 WHL games, recording 3 goals and 40 assists along with 58 penalty minutes. Last season, Vandane appeared in a career high 68 games, scored three goals and 25 points. He played one of three games this season for the Chiefs. The 6'4", 215-pound blue liner has also appeared in 30 WHL playoff games in the past two years for Spokane, totaling seven assists and 14 penalty minutes.

"Davis has been a very good player for us in the two years he has been in Spokane. This was a move that had to be made because league regulations allow just three 20-year-olds on our roster. We wish him all the best in Prince Albert," Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz said.

The move leaves the Chiefs with defenseman Brenden Kichton and forwards Blake Gal and Dylan Walchuk as their 20-year-olds.
