
Patriots Win 10th in a Row by Edging Blue Crabs 2-1

Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots (45-16) defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (34-26) 2-1 Friday evening at TD Bank Ballpark. The Patriots extended their winning streak to a season-high 10 games. Right fielder Scott Cousins socked a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning.
In the top of the fourth inning designated hitter Daryle Ward slapped a RBI single to give Southern Maryland a 1-0 advantage.
Designated hitter Thomas Neal hit a RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth inning to even the score at 1-1.
It was Somerset's 15th win in its final at bat and eighth walk-off win of the year.
Buddy Boshers earned the win (3-0) in relief as he struck out the side in the top of the ninth inning. Daryle Thompson suffered the loss (1-1) as he hurled a complete game and gave up a pair of runs.
